MULTI-MILLION pound plans to improve Castle Street have won support from the Transport Secretary.
Hull West and Hessle MP Alan Johnson and Councillor Martin Mancey, the city council's portfolio holder for environment and transport, today met with Transport Secretary Patrick McLoughlin to discuss the plans.
Following the meeting, Cllr Mancey said: "The secretary of state agreed Castle Street is a high priority for the next spending review and that works on the site could possibly start as early as 2016."
Cllr Mancey revealed Mr McLoughlin will be visiting Hull in April to see Castle Street for himself.
