Caught on camera: Pharmacy attack suspect hands herself in

A WOMAN suspected of punching a pharmacy worker repeatedly in the face while pushing a baby in a pram has handed herself in to police.

Detectives investigating the attack released a CCTV image of the woman as part of the Mail's Caught on Camera campaign.

She was suspected of attacking the manager of Lloyds Pharmacy after she was asked to leave the shop in Anlaby Road, west Hull.

Hours after the Mail was published, a woman handed herself in at Queens Gardens police station, city centre.

She is expected to be interviewed in connection with the offence today.

Detective Constable Justin Marrow, from the city's priority crime team, said: "This is a really good result. She handed herself in on the day the image was published in the Mail, just hours after it was on the streets."

Police also had several calls from members of the public naming the woman after the image was one of ten published in Caught on Camera in Monday's Mail.

Names have also been supplied for several of the other suspects, which detectives are now investigating.

DC Marrow said: "The response has been brilliant. It is good to see that people are interested and want to help us identify these outstanding suspects.

"The names that have been supplied to us will now be passed to the officers investigating each of the cases, who will make a decision about how to proceed.

"We would like to appeal for anyone who can identify any of the remaining suspects to get in touch with us."

Some of the other wanted people include two men who are suspected of dragging a man from his bike and kicking him in the head as he lay on the ground.

The man had been riding to work in an alleyway close to the Halfway Hotel pub in Hessle Road, west Hull, when he was pulled from his bike by four drunken men.

Two of them kicked the victim in the head.

Officers also want to identify a man and woman who broke into a machine in Showcase Amusements in Hessle Road and stole £125 in coins. Suspects are shown in this video:
