Chair-based fitness sessions for care home residents
HULL: Residents in sheltered housing and care homes will be able to get fit and active with chair-based exercise, indoor kurling, boccia and board games.
Those living in the Riverside, Wyke and West areas will be able to access the Active Gold Program, which provides weekly sessions.
First Step Sports will be holding the fitness and games sessions on behalf of Hull City Council, which is funding the programme.
Chelsea Whittleton, of First Step Sports, said: "The program also has a social aspect – as we all know, you can't beat a good cup of tea with friends. We encourage everyone, regardless of ability or experience to come and try the program, as it's not just physical, it is about being mentally and socially active as well."
