DEFENDING Newland Evening League champions Patrington maintained their unbeaten start with a last-over home win against Humbleton.

The visitors totalled 117 for 0 in their 12 overs with Andrew Simpson (80 not out including 5 sixes) and Chris Grey (35 not out) batting through the innings with Matthew Dixon bowling his four overs for just 18 runs.

Dixon (39), Danny Collinson (24) and Glen Ratcliffe (23no) led Patrington to victory at 120 for 3 with four balls to spare.

Cottingham rattled up 138 for 3 in 13 overs against Fenner with Dominic Rhodes (19), 62 from James Berridge and a second half-century for Masad Balouch (52) leading the run spree.

Fenner under-15 captain Mark Johnson, who took 0 for 26 in four overs, and Jason Hellwig, 2 for 22, were the pick of the bowlers.

Paul Scrowston's 86, including five sixes and four fours, and great support from Dean Johnson (33no) led the Fenner victory charge, with the latter hitting the winning runs with a ball to spare as Fenner totalled 139 for 2 for an eight-wicket win.

Beverley won by five wickets with one over to spare at home to Hull CC with 72no from Matthew Mudd (11 x 4s and 1 x 6) leading Town to a five-wicket victory at 126 for 5 with an over to spare, Alex Nightingale (22) lending Mudd good support.

Martin Watkin (28no) and Tom Appleyard (57no) were the features of the Hull score of 122 for 1, Jamie Roe (1 for 44) the wicket taker.
