Charlie Hook missed Christmas lights with stomach bug
HULL: A little boy who underwent successful treatment for an aggressive form of childhood cancer was unable to turn Cottingham's Christmas lights on due to a stomach bug.
Charlie Hook, 6, was diagnosed with neuroblastoma in January last year. He underwent successful treatment in Leeds but still faces an 80 per cent chance of relapse.
Charlie, of west Hull, had been due to turn on Cottingham's lights on Monday night at an event attended by thousands of people, but the stomach bug meant he was unable to go along.
Charlie's family launched the £300,000 Charlie Hook Appeal to take him for treatment in the US if he relapses.
