“Im afraid perspective went out of the window with the story the mail printed about the devastating car fire.
Apparently it almost resulted in The China Syndrome.”

“Let us all please get this in to some sort of perspective. We are talking about 50 litres, about 2 plastic drums worth. The staff on the ground and the FB sorted out the problem in line with probably well established emergency procedures. Well done to all involved.”

“It's a good job it didn't turn into an ASDA type incident as focused upon in the car fire story. Now that did cause a few tears.!”

“It's a bad sad to see all this stupid semantics when the key point is that MVK is highly toxic and flammable and soluble in a variety of solvents, including water. MVK is at least a severe irritant.
The oddly-named Peter, Uig should check up on what soluble means, substitute knowledge for pomposity, and perhaps go out with Search and Rescue and expose his lungs to a gas which has the official outcome of breathing it listed as Death. I think Death is spelled the same in the USA, Canada and Anlaby.”

“So, they have been 'ticked off' for environmental offences before, have they? Sounds like they haven't learned their lesson. It needs to be spelled out to them again. Reckitt Benckiser is probably a very high-value firm. I reckon they could stand a fine of, say, five billion pounds, and the money could help pay for local services. They should throw the book at them for this one.”
