City star in Wash And Go commercial
Footballer Jimmy Bullard's silky skills on the pitch will soon be complemented with even silkier hair.
And the Hull City midfielder can now concentrate on defence splitting passes rather than split ends after being unveiled as the star of a new shampoo advert.
-

The £5m record signing's flowing locks stars in a new Wash and Go campaign.
The advert is a spoof of the original shown in the late 1980's and is shot in the changing room of a gym.
Jimmy is seen through the open doors of a row of lockers wearing a series of comedy wigs.
After splashing around bottle of shampoo and conditioner he is then revealed with luxurious hair and says the catchline, "Take two bottles into the shower? - I just wash and go."
Jimmy said: "I remember the original advert and thought it would be a laugh to re-make a spoof version.
"It is the first advert I have ever done and I must admit it was brilliant fun.
"However, it was quite nerve-wracking. Most of the time when I am messing about with the lads it is off the cuff, but this time it was in front of a camera and was scripted.
"Luckily, they kept my lines to a minimum and I got through it."
The advert has been released to mark 21 years after the shampoo was launched.
It will be broadcast over the internet on the Youtube website and Jimmy recognises he could be in for some banter from his team mates.
He said: "When I told the lads they could not believe I was doing it. I am sure once they see it I will get a bit of stick.
"However, I am not sure if any of the other lads could have done it, except maybe Stephen Hunt, because he has got a bit of a wild barnet.
"I am often joking about with my team mates after a game or training, so I don't spend ages faffing around in showers.
"I literally just duck in and out but also need to ensure my own barnet looks great without all the fuss."
Jimmy was chosen to front the campaign because of its "comedic potential".
A spokesman from Wash and Go said: "We decided to adopt the 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it' approach and keep the original script and concept the same.
"That said, we would be pretty foolish not to recognise its comedic potential and, combining that with the fact that the product is an ideal addition to any sports kit, we teamed up with Jimmy to add a few comical twists."

“Well I think you should all give Jimmy a break. I like the majority of Hull blokes have a shiney bald head and I am jealous of Bullards golden locks.”

“Bullard should give any money he makes back to Hull City . the signing of jimmy bullard on a long long contract is the worst signing in hull citys history ...Everyone but brown and duffen knew bullard was past it with a couple of glass knees..why else didnt fulham want him and no one else did either...40+ grand a week and hes hardley played a game...a 5 million quid transfer fee, brown should be sacked for his stupidity in bringing jimmy bullard to the kc stadium..and yes i said this at the time when we signed him”

“Good luck to Jimmy. Dont tell me that none of our rugby league clubs players would have done this if they had been given the chance!!! The trouble is no-one outside of Hull knows who they are!!!
When City player start doing nude christmas calendars like a cerain RL club do then I'll start worrying.
ps; the last Hull City player to appear in a television advert was Raich Carter.”

“DAVE HULL 09.39, i dont follow rugby , couldnt tell you who is fc or rovers captain , been a city regular since early 80`s, hcafc season ticket holder since kc opened, bullard is imo the biggest waste of money in citys history , at least dave bamber only cost 200kish , my point is this , instead of making headlines for bust ups with players and antics on the weir , he should be concentrating on hull city ,if hes earning more money which he obviously doesnt need he could show good will and donate it , as for rooney , beckham and anyone else , why should i give a to$$ what they do? , they dont play for hull city . dave do you have a thingfor bullard? as you seem to have a defence mechanism for long haired footballers over (as you put) ugly rugby players ?”
