Hull City watching Egypt striker Gedo but will not move for Al Ahly's Ahmed Fathi
HULL City are monitoring the future of Egypt international striker Gedo – but will not be making any move for Al Ahly team-mate Ahmed Fathi.
The Tigers have been heavily linked with both players over the last 48 hours, with the Egyptian club claiming six-month loan deals had been proposed for the pair.

While reports of an imminent move for defender Fathi are wide of the mark, the Mail understands City boss Steve Bruce has identified Gedo as a potential target during the January transfer market.
The Tigers are still to make direct contact with Al-Ahly as they keep tabs on the prolific forward from afar, but the player's interest in moving to English football has been made clear.

Gedo, who boasts a formidable goalscoring record in domestic and international football, would be allowed to leave Al Ahly on loan this month for a fresh challenge overseas and is thought to have been the subject of enquiries from several European clubs.
The 26-year-old is yet to play domestic football outside Egypt but is no stranger to success having earned the Golden Boot in his country's African Cup of Nations triumph in 2010.
Bruce has a history of tapping into the Egyptian market during his managerial career. As well as bringing Amr Zaki and Mido to Wigan, the City boss also introduced Ahmed Elmohamady to the English game when in charge of Sunderland.
City's Egyptian-born owner Assem Allam has also developed links with Al Ahly in the wake of the Port Said disaster, when 74 football fans lost their lives last February, and has plans to welcome the Cairo-based club to the KC Stadium for a fund-raising friendly this summer.
Although the clock is ticking ahead of next week's transfer deadline, an interest in Gedo does not have any bearing on the Tigers' attempts to recruit top target DJ Campbell from QPR.

“Get Gedo and DJ Campbell. Get a luko behind the striker. Because isnt a striker. Need him dropping deep in a position you can afford to”
