Civil service workers on strike
CIVIL Service workers went on strike across East Yorkshire yester- day.
The nationwide stoppage involved courts, Jobcentre Plus offices and Customs and Excise offices.
Col Brown, Humber branch secretary of the Ministry of Justice division of the Public and Commercial Services Union, joined striking staff outside of Hull Combined Courts.
He said: "This strike has been called beca- use the Government is refusing to talk to us about yet more changes to terms of conditions on top of a continuing pay freeze and increased pension contributions."
