Police are stilling investigating claims that missing Bishop Burton student Russell Bohling was spotted in Hull.

Detectives are following up the new lead in the case amid concerns that someone else could be involved in his mysterious disappearance.

Detective Sergeant Allison Sweeting, of Humberside Police, said: "We are tracking down the person who claimed to have seen Russell.

"But, otherwise, we are no further forward with the case."

Russell, who has a speech and language disorder, vanished after leaving his West Ella home on Tuesday, March 2.

His blue Renault Clio car was found the following day at a car park at 400ft high Bempton Cliffs, near Bridlington.

Anyone with information on Russell's whereabouts can call Humberside Police on 0845 6060222.

“Previous reports suggested that Russell belongs to a loving and supportive family and had nothing to run away from. His attendance at Bishop Burton had been exemplary. I hope he has been spotted in Hull but when police have to "track down" the "eye-witness", it seems they may be clutching at straws. We should all keep our fingers crossed for Russell and his family who must now be out of their minds with worry.”
