Clinical Driff beat Ilkley
RUGBY UNION
DRIFFIELD made the most of their chances to win 31-3 at Ilkley.
Although Ilkley dominated the territory and possession, any rare opportunity that the Driffield backs saw to use the ball was taken.
In an early attack, Harvey Harding moved a penalty quickly to Chris Chapman who found skipper Tom Wright on hand to go over by the posts. Robin Kitching hit the post with the conversion attempt.

Ilkley continued to attack, and in the Driffield 22 Harding made a tackle and came away with the ball.
He had the length of the field to run to score, but he made the line and Kitching converted for 12-0 at half-time.
The game continued in the same vein in the second half with Ilkley dominating, but Driffield's defence was outstanding by the forwards and backs.
However, Ilkley fly-half Mike Cachia was able to kick a penalty.
Driffield were now obtaining a little ball and showed their backs were an attacking force.
Sam Havler gave a pass to Alistair McClarron who passed to Kitching. He continued the movement and sent in Wright by the posts, which Kitching converted.
McClarron then scored an outstanding individual try. He weaved his way in and out to score from some distance. Kitching successfully converted.
There was one more try, when Kitching kicked for the right hand corner and winger Lester Bell was on hand to touch down, but Kitching hit the post again.
