Value clothing retailer Ethel Austin, which opened a store in Hull less than three months ago, has gone into administration along with its sister company Au Naturale.

It is the second time in two years the group has called in administrators.

Geoff Bouchier, David Whitehouse and Philip Duffy, partners at MCR, have been appointed joint administrators and said the company would continue trading in administration with a view to finding a buyer for the businesses as a going concern.

However, they warned that in the current economic climate, there were no guarantees a buyer would be found.

Mr Bouchier added: "We are reviewing the financial position of the companies and are at this stage, unable to rule out store closures and redundancies."

Ethel Austin Au Naturale opened its doors in Prospect Street, Hull city centre, in November last year creating 18 jobs.

The 13,000sqft shop had been empty for 11 months following the closure of Woolworths.

“There he goes again, ex Liebour Councillor Pete, have you been sniffing glue Pete?
the only people who will vote for Nu-Liebour are public sector employees, immigrants and welfare claimants, all of whom are dependent on the state either for their living or their residency here.
and isn't it strange how all of the above have trebled in the twelve long years of Nu-Liebour.”

“Stephen, please explain why you think there is to be a W of a recession, what evidence do you have, as for Dave criticising quantative easing, if the bank of England had not bought the Gov. Bonds to release the cash the banks are now lending, the situation would have been drastic compared to the current position.

Every just about country in the developed world fllowed Browns idea and introduced quantative easing

As for not voting, that is as daft as refusing to don a lifebelt because you do not like the colour.”

“To all those who don`t understand, Economics! And before you all start, I dont vote for any party, Its a complete waste of time!!

The Bank of england is to blame for the recent shutdowns and closures of some large companies and even more small businesses! For instance there brainwave of Quantitive easing, This theory would have worked if the bank of england Even distributed the cash around the country, Instead of transferring it straight into a local bank in london, where as the local economy around that area are the ones who have gained from the huge cash injection!

We workers or business owners will not really see the difference to the local economy because the cash will take years to filter up to us, While other banks in the london area sit on the cash gaining intrest, While they can! This is why the north has suffered so badly and the south has not!! It will never change! That why london did not want parts of the financial sector to relocate to the likes of manchester, As suggested some years ago!

Unless the system changes or this country has a revolution, Then us northerners are going to pick up the pieces for years to come!”

“Steven, business rates do not go to the Council they go to the government. not sure what Minns had to do with St. Stephens planning permission. This was given in the 90s early 2000s and most of the councillors who approved it have gone.

always intersting on the suoperstors idea and local people. It is local people who shop in these superstores. If local people wanted to shop in local stores they would. the fact that they shop in supermarkets shows that people are motivated by price and not local loyalty”
