Comet: 17 more Hull workers redundant

A further 17 people have been made redundant from Comet's business centre in Hull.

Administrators at Deloitte yesterday confirmed 735 Comet employees had lost their jobs across the UK, including 132 from the company's head office and 603 from its home delivery network.

Earlier this month, more than 50 staff were told to pack up their desks at the Hull business centre.

Administrators say they are continuing to search for a buyer.

They confirmed on Saturday up to 41 Comet stores may have to close between now and the end of November, however they could not confirm whether this included either of Hull's outlets.
