Composer's centenary recognised

The Northern Chamber Orchestra (NCO) returns to the region next month.

Acclaimed as one of the country's leading chamber ensembles, the NCO will be performing at Beverley's Toll Gavel United Church.

With this year marking the centenary of Benjamin Britten's birth, the concert will include the composer's work for viola and orchestra, Lachrymae.

Philip Duke will be the solo viola player for a programme that will also include the Sinfonia Concertante for violin, viola and orchestra and Grieg's Holberg Suite.
