Counterfeit vodka warning after bottling operation uncovered in north Hull garage
Police are warning people to watch out for counterfeit vodka which they fear is on sale in Hull.
Detectives discovered a home-made bottling operation when they searched a north Hull property at the weekend.

They found illicit alcohol, bottles, hundreds of screw caps and labels in a garage.
Now, they are concerned criminals may be trying to pass off counterfeit alcohol as genuine Stolichnaya brand vodka.

Detective Inspector Jason Gourley said: "I would ask members of the public to be mindful when buying bottles of this brand of vodka in Hull and the local area as it may well be illicit, particularly if it is priced cheaply.
"I would urge people to check the seal is intact, the labels are straight and the bottles have the genuine Stolichnaya markings.
"Most licensees do operate within the law. The minority that choose to be involved in the distribution of counterfeit alcohol will be discovered and appropriate action will be taken against them."
