The County Road North flyover will re-open to traffic on Monday 15 October.

The flyover will re-open on Monday afternoon with controlled temporary lights to allow two-way traffic to ensure the safety of the workforce who will be completing the necessary works under the bridge.

The closure of County Road North has caused weeks of delays.

The work was originally scheduled to be completed on November 11 but was re-organised after the closure led to traffic chaos on the road.

“Hull City Council apologises for the inconvenience and disruption this has caused to drivers by this necessary closure.

“The works carried out to date have removed some of the damaged concrete and allowed our engineers to reassess the extent of works required.

"We have identified ways in which the final phases can be completed while the flyover is open to traffic.”

“Just as a further update I saw an article in the hard copy HDM about all the roadworks in Hull. It showed a map with the roadworks and the status i.e. road closures, temporary lights, etc. It indicated that County Road North has re-opened albeit with temporary lights. There are no temporary lights at all, there is still work ongoing but both sides of the road are open, it's just the footpath on the northern side of the bridge that is closed.”

    “Fairybunny and Magnumpti,
This story also does say the road will open on Monday afternoon. Please note as well it will be one lane - "temporary taffic lights" will be in place.
Hope tomorrow is better for you.”

    “Magnumpti - I know!

I happened to spot a tiny snippet in Saturday's HDM which stated the bridge would re-open on Monday afternoon. Although I am fully anticipating that there will be another announcement delaying it back again, and again, and again.....”

“Except that it hasn't opened at all. There were workmen there on Saturday morning but nothing since. It certainly wasn't open at rush hour this morning so by making this statement the Council have no doubt caused traffic chaos again for everyone expecting it to be open.”

“Hallelujah! All they need to do now is to get the work on Park Street moving.”

“Better than the original seven week anticipated closure Luce. But I've heard it'll only be one lane, still it's a step in the right direction.”
