“For "Adam089"
It the speed limits were set by fuel consumption, then please explain why we have a 30mph limit where I enjoy (NOT) an average 24mpg; At 60mph I receive 31mph, and at 80mph a lovely 37mpg.
With many others I will look forward to the inception of the 80mph limit, but as you have already mentioned it will make little difference, because most people travel at that speed already on the motorways.”

“The road surface on the A63 is shocking, just eastbound before Daltry street flyover there are some shockers. It's a good job it is a 40 limit there!”

“SnothillBaz, they speed limit will not be raised to 80mph as the new transport secretary has said it won't make the slightest bit of difference, which it wouldn't. All it would do is increase fuel consumption (something which many people can't afford), increase the chance of a severe accident if you have one and increase CO2 emissions.”

“@Snothillbaz
The bends are not the slightest bit dangerous at 70mph - end of.
I do agree about the quality of the road surface though.”

“The right hand and then left hand bends as you drive easterwards under the Humber Bridge are quite dangerous at 70mph, the limit for this stretch should be set at 60mph. Not to mention the uneven road surface.
I am not a member of the speed camera fascists brigade, in fact can't wait until the national motorway limit is raised to 80mph, but this short stretch of road is not suitable for 70mph.”
