Crash closes Hull Road in Hedon
Police were called to a crash involving two cars in Hedon which left one woman in hospital.
The crash between a white Vauxhall Corsa and a green Vauxhall Meriva at 1.53pm.
Police are in attendance and directign traffic around closures on the A1033 which are in place between Saltend roundabout and Thorngumbald.
The condition of the injured woman is unclear at this time.

Road closures are expected to be in place for some time to enable investigations to be undertaken.
Witnesses are asked to call 101 quoting log number 303 of Friday, February 22.

“The idiots who speed down the outside lane are trying to jump the queue that they are causing by either cutting in or going all the way around the roundabout. The rest of us who use the road correctly should close ranks and not allow them to cut in.”

“I hate this junction. Getting out of Staiths Road is only for the brave at the evening rush hour. There is also the issue of East bound drivers stuffing it down the outside lane & then trying to cut back into the Hedon exit, which is only one car wide.
Entering Staiths off the roundabout when coming from Hedon is also an invite for someone to tee-bone you when they are giving it big licks down Hedon Road dont feel like giving way.
Saddly, like the rest of the Hedon road upgrade, it was done on the cheap. The overpass should have been two way.

“I passed this not long after it occurred and I saw at least four cars involved - two on one side of the road, two further up on the other side of the roundabout. There was a high emergency service presence too (three fire appliances, four police cars and ambulance), so hope everyone comes out ok in the end.”
