Cyclist, 15, dies in crash on B1230 Hull Road

A 15-year-old boy from Gilberdyke has died after being knocked off his bike on the B1230 Hull Road.

The boy was pronounced dead in hospital after a crash with an Audi A4, driven by a 67-year-old woman, near the Rose and Crown pub between Eastrington and Gilberdyke.

He was riding with another 15-year-old boy from Howden towards Gilberdyke when the accident happened at 8.50pm yesterday (Thursday).

The second boy suffered fractures and bruises. His injuries are not life-threatening.

The driver was arrested and remains in custody.

Police would like to hear from any witnesses who drove on B1230 between Howden and Gilberdyke between about 8pm and 9pm and saw either the cyclists or the dark-grey Audi.
