Cyclist snatches handbag from car
A cyclist snatched a bag from a woman's car as she was about to drive off.
The 72-year-old driver was parked on Francis Street with the engine running when a man on a bicycle opened the front passenger door and grabbed her bag at around 2.40pm on Friday October 12.

The thief made off with the bag but was chased by a member of the public onto Freetown Way.
After throwing his black mountain bike at his pursuer, the cyclist dropped the handbag and ran off, heading behind the Travel Lodge on Pryme Street.

“Same thing happened to a friend of mine on Argyle Street a few years ago. I always lock my car door as soon as I get in, whether or not my bag is in the car. Hopefully this lady has recovered from her ordeal and the verminous filth responsible for this crime will be brought to task. I won't hold my breath, though.”

“What a numpty...now he'll have to steal a bike to carry on in his hilarious career, could it have been the clown who got battered by the lady last week. Jeeeez its like a circus out there. A big well done to the brave guy who chased after the failed thief and saved the day.Hope the lady is fine too.”

“Well let's hope she makes a few bob on his bike when she sells it in the Mail. £40 to £50 bonus for the mental suffering she endured should get some groceries in, or help towards a bill or two.”

“What a loser !!.. thought he would get away scott free.. didnt bank on members giving chase. Now he will have to go and pinch a bike to replace the one he threw away !!... I am sure it`s all camera`d up around there too, so should be able to detect. Hope the pensioner is ok btw.”
