Deadline extended for public to have say over Dunswell School future
EAST Riding Council has agreed to extend the consultation deadline for public comments on the future of Dunswell Primary School.
The deadline for comments is now April 15. This is also the consultation deadline for comments on council proposals to close Gembling Primary and Langtoft Primary.

Dunswell School is facing an uncertain future
Moves to shut the two Driffield area primaries this summer have been met with stern opposition from parents, who have voiced shock over the speed of the proposals.
With just 20 pupils, the council says, per pupil, Langtoft Primary is the East Riding's most expensive school to run.

The council is looking to close 26-pupil Gembling Primary because it will go into the red under a new national funding regime.
The council's cabinet will receive a report on the consultations on April 23. If the cabinet decides to proceed with formal proposals to close any of the schools, public notices will be published.
There would then be a six-week period during which more representations can be made.
