Deano is on world tour
HIS FACE is well-known to thousands of Tigers fans in Hull.
And now Dean Windass has been spotted in far-flung destinations across the world.
More than 100 imaginative holidaymakers proudly wore Deano masks while posing for photographs to honour their Hull City hero.
They were snapped on the Great Wall of China, with the Eiffel Tower in Paris, and by the leaning tower of Pisa in Italy.
Other fans were pictured closer to home, with one supporter even wearing his mask at the top of the Humber Bridge.
All were participating in a competition run by Viking FM that handed out 10,000 masks – which travelled as far as the US, Europe and Australia.
But it was a picture of 16-year-old friends Abbie Tennyson and Sophie Tipping which was chosen as the winning photograph by Deano, who recently left the Tigers to join Oldham Athletic.
The girls were treated to a VIP trip to the KC Stadium for their efforts.
Abbie, of Pocklington, said: "I've been a Hull City fan for years. We went to the play-off final at Wembley and we went to the homecoming in Queen Victoria Square, which is where we picked up the mask.
"We took it on holiday to Turkey with us and just thought it would be a bit of a laugh to enter. We never thought we would win."
Steve Allbones, station director at Viking FM said: "With more than 100 entries from axross the world, we were really surprised at the amount of effort people had gone to."

“Any connection between the obsession Hull's local media have with football and (a very minor) celebrity and the poor exam league table results?
Is it any wonder the majority of local children don't perform well at school when they take their lead from adults with numpty ideas like this?”

“Time to leave this now. This guy will get a complex soon.”
