Decision due on industrial action by Yorkshire ambulance staff
EAST YORKS: A union is expected to announce on Monday whether it is taking industrial action.
Unite has balloted members at Yorkshire Ambulance Service, with the last votes being taken this weekend.

On Monday, the union will reveal whether members will be taking action.
If they are, it could start as soon as Monday, March 25 – allowing for the legal requirement of seven days notice.

It could be action short of a strike, such as "work to rule", or industrial action.
Unite's regional officer Terry Cunliffe said: "Unite has been angered by Yorkshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust's decision to de-recognise the union.
"We are also against the introduction of the new emergency care assistants (ECAs) to work alongside trained paramedics."
Unite says ECA staff are given six weeks' training, compared with a paramedic's two-year course.
Ballots papers on the action have gone to about 460 Unite members at the ambulance service.
This represents about 15 per cent of the total staff, but about a quarter of employees hired to man ambulances.
