Decision welcomed
THE Civic Society's Professor Barbara English warmly welcomed the announcement.
She said: "The cautionary note is that, quite rightly, the council will consult other groups, like the town council and disabled groups.
"But we are terrifically grateful to those people who have helped us.
"All sorts of people have taken the trouble to send us emails and write to the council.
