Regret: Paul Robinson, deputy police and crime commissioner
Mr Robinson was crossing the bridge on November 29 to attend a meeting with the Humberside Police south bank divisional commander.
"On my approach to the toll booth my mobile phone rang and I answered it and used my phone," he said.

"This was a wrong thing to do and I bitterly regret it."
The East Riding councillor was contacted by the police and attended a police station.
Councillor Robinson said: "I was given suitable words of advice by a senior officer regarding the dangers of using a mobile phone while driving.
"I made a mistake and I have learned my lesson."
Mr Grove appointed Mr Robinson against the wishes of a police and crime panel set to oversee his role.
Although the panel had no legal powers to veto the decision, it had expressed disquiet over Mr Grove's choice for the £45,000-a-year job.
Humberside Police last year launched an awareness campaign about the risks of using a phone while driving.
Motorists using their phones were targeted as part of a month-long campaign in May.
The campaign was launched in a bid to reduce the number of casualties on the region's roads.
Anyone caught was given a £60 fine and three penalty points on their licence or offered the opportunity to attend a considerate driver course for £95.

“Humberside police, let every one complain to them about this offence then they will act. Simple, one law for them , one law for us, When will Humberside Police get their act together?
Driving whilst using a hand held device on a narrow bridge is very bad.
Is this why they are one of the worst performing Constabularies in the UK?
This law breaking leach should resign.”

“There seems to be a more to it i think. Bet he was reported by the bridge board for going through the toll booth on his phone and using a Police Bridge Board pass. That's why he has not been prosecuted. That's what the bridge toll staff do report improper use of bridge passes. I'm Sure if he was caught on his phone by a officer they would have not know or cared who he was. 29thNovember he was not in post in the Police Commissioners office. This suggest to me that he was using police/best buddy Grove's resources. He and his cronyism of a mate are only in it for the money. It's not the police's fault these Two spongers have been elected in post. They will just milk the system for there own good. I abstained from voting what a mistake that was. I cannot help think that if Mr Prescott had been successful it would have been less about the salary and more about the Budget. 75K for Grove & 45K for Robinson plus expenses there laughing at us. I think the Police do a good job with the budget and resources they have it's a shame they have to waste £120K on these two. If he is prepared to drive his car whilst talking on his phone he as no respect for the law. If a serving police officer was caught doing that in police time it would be good bye job and career. Rant over”

“@pedalrebel, You said, "Not Leven, It was Lelley, Do you think your evidence would have stood up in court ?" But then you said "Don't give a toss if you said Leven, Lelley, or Lilliput". Seems your a bit confused as well as a pompous baffoon.”

“@unified
Your talking out your backside claiming you know what ive done in my lifetime you dont know a thing and you can stick up for cullilingus all you want this is the man who thinks its a good idea to spend £5 million on filling in a pond, building a stage, laying some new pavers and some new lighting. Could get the unemployed of Hell to do it for nothing but he thinks its a good idea to throw millions a pounds of our money around like its 1999. I have done work for this city for nothing i have put fences up round schools, nurseries and maintained estates before demolition works commence, or as you would say maintaining this dump. So lets hear what you have done for this great city of ours ha and how much you get paid to do it dont come at me on your moral high horse like im the reason Hell is like it is i arent the one at the top making the decisions, im at the bottom where the outcome of the decisions is felt. And the decisions you make will never effect you people as you earn to much money, its like me telling someone with cancer what the best course of treatment is, well i dont know the first thing about cancer like you dont know the first thing about the real world, so i keep my mouth shut.”

“Yes, dear india7, I agree with you. Although I don't vote for the party represented by Cllr Inglis, I value his sensible comments on numerous HDM stories. And it's a pity that other local politicians who post on this website can't be equally sound and sensible in their comments!”

“Tosh 1958, love him or loathe him, I would suggest the vast majority of reasonable minded people will really appreciate the contribution of Mr Inglis to this particular forum.
You may agree/disagree with his opinion's on discussed topic's, but they are his, they are honest, they are interesting, and they offer a great insight into the mind of a very experienced politician - priceless.
For the simple choice he makes to come on here and express his opinon, he easily gets 10 out fo 10 in my book.”

“How did we end up with these two clueless clowns ,Grove and Robbo, in the first place? All eyes on the Labour Party, with their unsuitable candidate and terrible campaign. Thanks a bunch!”
