"I have always dreamed of opening my own shop, and when the opportunity arose in Beverley, we decided to go for it."
Alongside designer clothes, the shop is offering a range of accessories and handmade silver jewellery by Lincolnshire designer Daniella Draper, as worn by supermodel Kate Moss.
Ms Duffy added: "We wanted to bring new designers to the town and appeal to a different market that isn't currently being catered for in Beverley.
"The clothes are gorgeous and I hope people love them just as much as I do."
Commanche celebrated its opening by offering the first 15 customers 10 per cent off their purchase.
The store is open Monday to Friday from 9.30am to 5pm, Saturdays, from 9am to 5.30pm, and Sundays, from 10.30am to 4pm.

“Don't you think that they should mark these pieces 'promotional' or something? It's just an advert.
Beverley is still a nice town, but I can only afford to shop at Tesco clothing right now!”

“Ooooh how marvellous. While I wish them luck I fail to see the attraction of stupidly priced clothes unless you have more money than sense.
Is that their 'shop' they are supposedly pictured in? Looks more like someones lounge! No wonder you have to pay extra for the goods - its because there's that little stock theres not much to buy!”

“Good luck to them both. It is good to see a young couple making a go of things in this difficult climate. I cannot even afford Primark at the moment, so would have to win the lottery to shop at this store, but I hope they do very well. More East Yorks entrepreneurs please!”

“what a load of negative tosh from the likes of AstonomiaKATs (son of AstonomiaSK or yet another reincarnation of this moaner?) there are some bitter miserable folk out there. And Jackboo2011 what has bitten your bottom!
I used to live in Beverley and but now live in Hull I do not think the people go around thinking they are are different to anybody they just want the area to thrive and I include Hull in that. Great news that young people like this are going into business, we need more people like this not the sort who thing the world owes them a living or want instant success and big money and will not work there way through the world”

“Beverley is an horrid place, although it once was upmarket it no longer is, and although I wish this young couple lots of luck I think they should have chosen a different location more suited to their high end business.”

“Think of it this way, the longer people keep putting comments of any kind on this thread, the longer the name of the business will be on the front page. Thus the more likely it is people will call in to have a look around.
Good luck to Ben & Ruth”

“Well said 5025Hull, couldn't agree with you more.
I think jackboo should put a 't' on the end of his name. Sounds like a very bitter and jealous individual. You can't win with some people, they complain when shops like Poundshop opens in Hull and whinge about a young couple trying to have a go in Beverley. The answer is simple, if you can't afford to shop in such places like Commanche - then stay away!”

“Why all the angry comments, jealousy perhaps? Good luck to them, at least they are showing entrepreneurship in a difficult economic climate. Fair enough, you don't agree with designer labels so don't shop there. Shouldn't your anger be directed at the companies or people who are bringing this country to its knees rather than a young couple who are trying to put something back into society?”

“A range of vomit proof posh frocks for Ladies' day would be a popular line. Presently female race goers are totally dependant on disposable Primark garments”
