HULL KR captain Michael Dobson says he's looking forward to facing his old half-back partner Blake Green as Wigan head to Craven Park on Sunday.

And he says the Aussie stand-off is a man they will have to watch closely if KR want to come away with a morale-boosting win.

  1. Hull KR skipper Michael Dobson

'The hardest I've trained': Hull KR skipper Michael Dobson is looking forward to a tough test against Wigan.

The Robins are expected to select a strong side to face the Warriors, with this and the following week's clash with Hull FC the only two hit-outs against Super League teams before the new season starts next month.

"We know Blake is a very dangerous player and we will have to keep our eye on him," Dobson told the Mail.

"Playing against Blake should be good, and as he controls the right hand side and I control our left, we should see a lot of each other.

"We trained and used to come up against each other last season, so I'm used to it.

"I've spoken to Blake regularly and he's enjoying himself, so I'd expect him to play a similar role as he did when he was with us."

Dobson believes a tough pre-season has left Rovers ready for their first big test, and with fitness levels to match any of their rivals.

"I can't wait to see where we're up to in terms of fitness as this is the hardest I have trained since I have been here," he said.

"Wigan are a good side and this will be a great opportunity to gauge where we are at.

"We might be a bit rusty but hopefully we can put into place the things we have been working on."

    “Club Statement

In light of recent coverage in the media we can confirm that club representatives have met with Tony Larvin regarding a substantial investment in Hull Kingston Rovers.

Those meetings took place prior to Christmas, and again earlier this week. At this stage there will be no further comment until such time as the necessary proof of funds has been delivered to the club.”

"Days of a Tenner are over. Its not just our costs n prices that's gone up."......No they are not, I'll be paying a tenner at the Wigan game on Sunday.......

“It does seem a tad expensive to play at the KC

Especially when you cannot even hang pictures up in the reception.
And you're owner is not even allowed in the chairman's suit”

“Shamus, the fan websites of most SL Clubs run an annual thread about boycotting FC games at the KC due to shameless profiteering, started by Kath and continued by Pinnochio......

Your really very bitter about the multi-million pound investment aren't you......Don't cry.....

    Kerching !”
