Prices of a packet of cigarettes vary but research undertaken by electronic cigarettes company E-Lites suggests that, on average, a smoker will spend £90,221 on maintaining the habit over their lifetime.

This bloated figure was based on the average smoker starting at the age of 15 and a half years old, smoking four packs a week at a cost of £27.54.
