Snow and ice causes accidents in Hull and East Riding
THIS morning's disruptions on the M62 (North Cave) and A1174 Hull Road in Beverley have been cleared.
However, motorists are being warned of a level crossing failure on Spring Bank West.
The road is blocked in both directions from the Chanterlands Avenue junction to the Walton Street junction because the train barrier is stuck down.
A Network Rail spokesman said: "We believe it has been caused by wind damage, and apologise for any inconvenience."

According to the Met Office, this afternoon's weather will be sunny spells and snow showers. However, the snow showers will become less frequent.
Maximum temperature is 1°C.
There will be a widespread sharp frost with a minimum temperature of -3 °C and scattered snow showers tomorrow morning (Tuesday).
Brough Primary School is closed for Years 1, 2 and 5, because there is no heating
The snow also forced Hull City Council to cancel the Avenue Ward Forum, due to take place today between 10am and 5pm on the community bus touring the streets.

“Deanosdad
.
No matter how good a driver you are, if you hit a patch of black ice that is impossible to see or even anticipate, then it is not the drivers fault.
You can't drive anticipating black ice, or you may as well leave all cars in the garage.
As any driver will tell you. You can be driving along, no change in the road service or colour and for what ever reason a small patch of road is completely different to the rest, result you go into an uncontrollable slide.
Result accident that is no ones fault.”

“I note that the driver of the car in front in picture #1 has not cleared the snow from his/her vehicle.”

“the snow and ice are not causing accidents, it is the drivers who cant drive to the conditions causing the accidents”
