PATRINGTON only need five points from their remaining two games to clinch the East Yorkshire Cricket Alliance Premier Division title after their win at Cottingham.

Star of the show was Mark Pollard with 99 in their total of 270-9, before a hat-trick from Mark Goundrell (5-21) skittled Cott for just 82.

Hessle kept their hopes alive with a win over Sutton, who were all out for 83 thanks to Sana Ulla (5-12) before Trevor Braithwaite hit an unbeaten 41 for Hessle.

Tom Wilkinson hit 69 as Hill Top got the better of third place Airmyn.

North Ferriby won the bottom-of-the-table clash with Ionians to ease their relegation fears with Chris Waterhouse the star with a hat-trick in his 5 for 27.

Driffield are looking over their shoulder after losing to Beverley Town, bowled out for 61 after a good spell by Guy Brumfield (4 for 27).

THE Division One title race is wide open again as league leaders Hull & YPI lost at Humbleton. Andy Johnson took 7-25 as Hull failed to chase down 116.

Patrington are now just five points behind in second after Eastrington conceded their game.

Newland and Pelican remain fourth and fifth after victories at Sutton-on-Hull and Wawne respectively. North Ferriby eased their relegation position after a victory at Beverley.

Neil Goforth hit 64 as Beverley made 197-6, but Graham Broadley (56) and Mike McNally (49) helped Ferriby to their target.

Skirlaugh require just three points from their final game to claim the Division Two championship after Hessle lost to third-place Fenner by five wickets.

In Division Three, Humberside Police claimed the second promotion place after being on the wrong end of a high scoring draw with the champions Bransholme.
