East Yorkshire pub has the best Yorkshire Puddings
It's official, East Yorkshire has the best Yorkshire Puddings in the county, after the chef at The Star @ Sancton was named Yorkshire Pudding Champion for the second time running.
Head Chef and owner, Ben Cox is delighted with the announcement, which only comes a week after The Star @ Sancton received a recommendation in The Good Food Guide.

Ben did East Yorkshire proud on Saturday, September 8, when a panel of top food writers judged his Yorkshire Puddings the best in a battle between four well known chefs from all corners of the county.
Ben was up against Darren Parkinson from The Shibden Mill in Halifax, Ashley McCarthy from Ye Old Sun Inn at Colton near Tadcaster, and Jack Baker from Artisan in Sheffield.

The contest was organised and hosted by The Cooking School at Dean Clough, an award-winning cookery school near Halifax, considered to be among the best in Europe.
Ben proved unbeatable once again and was delighted to win the competition for the second year running.
He said: "To win the inaugural competition last year was great, but to have scooped the title again this year is just fantastic, especially as it's judged by a panel of respected food writers and critics. I always knew that we make the best Yorkshire Puddings here in East Yorkshire and this is further proof."
Judge Amanda Wragg, a food writer and joint founder of the foodie website Squidbeak said: "Ben's puds were crisp, golden and full of flavour, he uses a specail stock and his trademark herbs, and they rose magnificently. As a special, celebratory treat he made us sweet puds with melted Mars Bars full of chocolate sauce, with a hint of mint! Delicious!"
