Euphoria Audio kick off tour in Hull
Trondheim doesn't sound like the obvious place to start a rock revolution.
But for melodic metallers Euphoria Audio, the sleepy Norwegan skiing resort is the base camp from which they plan to strike out towards the uplands of rock stardom.

The former University of Hull students, spent five days in the Scandinavian city late last year, recording their debut, three-track EP which they plan to use as a calling card to announce their arrival on the national rock stage.
The second stage of their masterplan kicks off tomorrow with a gig at Sharkey's Bar, in George Street, Hull, the first date of a spring packed with live dates.
"Norway was really good fun," says guitarist Ben Lloyd. "And a massive learning curve for us. We didn't get to do much skiing though. We were cocooned in the studio from dawn 'til dusk.
"We were actually invited out there by a production company called D-sign Music, who are part of Universal, so it was great to see how some really top-notch producers work. They've previously worked with people like Kylie Minogue and Joe Cocker, so they know what they're doing.
"Just to sit back and hear what they pulled out of the music was amazing – stuff we'd never even thought of. But it was a insight into how good you have to be to really stand out."
Having returned from the frozen north the band, which is made up of guitarist Ben, singer Matthew Shirtliff, bassman Ben Hughes and drummer Daniel Wood, say they are determined to push on to the next stage in their career.
Having a professional EP to promote themselves to potential labels and promoters has opened plenty of doors – and the future's looking rosy.
"Everything is looking really optimistic," says Ben, bassist for the group which takes its inspiration from rock giants such as Def Leppard, Aerosmith and Queen.
"People are starting to take us seriously and having professional backing really helps open doors when you're looking for gigs.
"We're going to shoot our first video for our song Gravity with an up-and-coming director in London, which is all very exciting. It seems a bit weird to be talking about recording EPs and shooting videos – they're the sort of things that happen to other bands – but we're determined to grasp all the opportunities coming our way.
"The biggest compliment we've had is when people come up to us after a show and say: 'I can't believe you guys aren't signed'.
"We work on the basis that you get out what effort you put in."
For anyone who can't make it to the Sharkey's show tomorrow night, the band will be returning to Hull on Thursday, March 18, when they will be playing The Ringside, in Beverley Road, and again on Friday, May 28, when they are pencilled in to play at the Cottingham Springboard Festival.
* Euphoria Audio play Sharkey's, George Street, Hull, tomorrow, at 8pm. Entry is free. Call (01482) 326 544.
