Event aims to raise profile of hospices
EAST HULL: An annual awareness event to raise the profile of hospices is starting today.
Hospice Care Week will run until Sunday.

This year, the region's hospices, including Dove House in east Hull, will be raising awareness of how they reach out to and support the different communities they serve.
The week will culminate with a global hospice awareness day on Sunday, which is World Hospice and Palliative Care Day.

A spokesman said: "Hospice care is not about buildings – it is about people and communities, from the people who support and work in partnership with their local hospices, to the patients, friends and families who rely on them."
Dove House Hospice's services are available to anyone aged 18 and over.
It provides care for patients with cancer, neurological illnesses, heart diseases, respiratory diseases, HIV and Aids and many other illnesses.
