Ex-Hornsea policeman guilty of attempted rape
A former East Riding policeman is facing a lengthy prison sentence after he was convicted of attempted rape.
Lee Rackham showed no emotion as a jury of seven men and five women at Leeds Crown Court convicted him of attempted rape and two sexual assaults on three victims.
Rackham was cleared of carrying out three other sexual assaults.
The 33-year-old, who was a serving officer in Hornsea with Humberside Police when the offences took place, was granted bail but told to expect a lengthy period behind bars.
Judge Scott Wolstenholme told Rackham, previously of Beverley: "The guidelines are quite clear for the offence of attempted rape.
"There has to be a substantial custodial sentence. The length will depend on the material put before me on the sentencing hearing."

“Nick what are the police getting away with, if they got away with everything then he would not have been charged in the first place, its not the fault of the police that he got bailed.”

“And you know what to expect when a judge warns of a substantial custodial sentence and then grants bail,a jail term between 2/3 years in which he will be back on the streets after serving half, its a shame they wont bang him and "psycho paul" up together, but no he will serve a cushty sentence in a holiday camp far away,i am totaly boiling in anger!! it makes me sick and disgusted, that the prosecution and the judge who i consider living in "fairy dairy land" have once again let down the victim!!!”
