A 25-year-old female member of the teaching staff at the
1,415 pupil Sewerby Road school is being investigated over
claims she sent inappropriate text messages to a male
student.
The unnamed member of staff, from Bridlington, was arrested
and bailed pending further police inquiries, after she was
suspended from the controversial school.
As first reported on the Mail's website yesterday, the
suspension of the female member of the teaching staff is the
latest scandal to hit the school.
Today, a police spokeswoman said: “We are aware of the
allegations and have launched an investigation in conjunction
with East Riding Council.
“A 25-year-old Bridlington woman has been arrested and
released on police bail pending further inquiries.
“Further details about the allegations made against the
woman will not be released at this stage, due to the ongoing
investigation.”
The Beverley-based council also refused to go into any
details about the case, which first became public knowledge
yesterday.
