Fenner move up to fifth in table

Relegation threatened Acomb did their cause no harm at all when they defeated Goole Town by 73 runs.

Their batting star was St Peter's pupil Joe Halstead who hit 60.
With valuable input coming from Andy Tute 25, Andy Green 36 and Joe Dale 29, the York side were able to total 205-6 despite Richard Mann's 3-51.
Dale then captured 3 for 12 as Goole were bundled out for 132.
Jake Mahoney made 34 but the Acomb bowlers were well supported by keeper Richard Sykes who held four catches.
Fenner moved into fifth place when a third- wicket stand of 81 between Dominic Rhodes 57 and Steve sergeant 69no propelled them to a five-wicket win over Easingwold.
The latter's total of 190-5 was brought about by two productive partnerships.
Firstly Jon Marwood 46 and Martin Piercy 36 added 75 for the second wicket then Paul Skilbeck 53no and Dan Copeland 40 added 89 for the fifth wicket before Copeland fell to the last ball of the innings.
Sergeant claimed 4-55 before going on to hit eight fours as Easingwold utilised seven bowlers.
Studley Royal got back to winning ways when they won a low scoring encounter with Beverley by 21 runs.
No batsman on either side was able to reach the mentionable 25 run mark as Alex Morrell 3-38 and Steve Blake 3-21 pegged the Royals to 135-8 before Steve Walmsley with 4-14 and Gary Blackburn 3-23 dismissed Beverley for 114.
DIVISION ONE
Driffield improved their chances of avoiding relegation when they defeated Bridlington by five wickets at Dukes Park where the home side were dismissed for 137.
Richard Lount's 38 was the only batting of note as Adrian Long took 3-60 and Mark Clarkson 3 for 6.
Clarkson then completed a good performance by making 41 before Mick Drury 27no and Andrew Chapman 38no knocked off the runs.
With their three nearest challengers all coming off second best, York II increased their grip on Division One when they thumped Londesbrough Park by 191 runs.
York skipper Dave Simpson hit his third century of the campaign and his 21st in the League when he inputted 110 to a first wicket stand of 154 with Simon Lambert 47.
James Beevers took 3-53 but York were able to move to 298-6 as Andy Kay 44no and Mike Mortimor 24no put the game beyond their struggling opponents.
For Park, Calum Robertson made 27 and 14-year-old Greg Drewery 28 but the bowling of Richard Love 4-27 and Gareth Fenton 3-8 had the east Yorkshire side all out for 107.
Fourth placed Hornsea slipped to 38-6 in 16 overs against Clifton Alliance II as they suffered a number of LBW decisions.
John Thornton 5-51 and Reece Crowe 4-20 threatened to blow the seasiders away but resolute rearguard batting by Ben Wallis 35 and Alistair Kirk 29 enable their side to recover to a more presentable 112 all out.
However, this proved to be inadequate as Simon Corley's unbeaten 61 steered the Alliance to a seven-wicket victory which opens up a 64 point gap between themselves and the two sides occupying the relegation slot.
Second placed Heworth dismissed the hosts for 157 when they travelled to Hull Zingari with the spin of Mark Bell proving to be an irresistible force as he grabbed 6-21 in an 11- over spell.
Jack Storey hit 68 for Hull who, by being dismissed in 46.4 overs gifted an over to their opponents.
In the event this proved to be a poisoned chalice as it meant that Heworth's last pair had to survive an extra six balls before gaining a closely fought draw at 151-9 off 49 overs.
Their escape act was threatened by Andy Hamson with 3-29 and Matt Bunn who took 4-43.
However, the combined efforts of Jonathon Draper 31, Richard Walton 48 and at the crunch time Mark Lynch, who was unbeaten with 28, enabled Heworth to close at 151-9.
DIVISION TWO
Division Two leaders Selby encountered few problems as they kept up their promotion march with a comfortable victory at Tadcaster Magnet.
The twin attack of Chris Dye 3-42 and spinner Steve Precious who took 4-18 had Magnet all out for 104.
This included cameo spots from Rich Cattle 27 and Rob Hill 29.
Their efforts were neutralised by Gareth Townend who made 38 and Ed Welsh who was undefeated with 27.
Rob Coates produced the day's star performance when he followed his 7 for 59 with a late order unbeaten 40 which earned second placed Sewerby a nerve racking two-wicket win at Beverley.
Coates had the majority of the home batsmen struggling but Kev Thompson 55 and Harry Bardon 40 bucked the trend to help post a home score of 144-9.
Barry Sayer then hit back with 3-27 as Sewerby struggled to 93-8 but then saw his side's hopes of victory ebb away as Coates found a worthy partner in S Hood who made 12no in a match winning unbeaten 54 run partnership for the ninth wicket.
Carlton Towers opted to bat first when they won the toss at St George's Road but soon felt the force of the Harrogate pairing of Mark Sedgeley 3-20 and Rob Stamworth 4-65.
Mark Holmes 27 and Graham Spence 32 offered some hope for the visitors who were eventually all out for 140.
After the break, Geoff Baines stroked an unbeaten 76 as Harrogate maintained their bid for promotion with a seven-wicket victory.
Jamie Kember was in peerless form as he produced a match double of a half century and five wickets to help Pockington trounce New Earswick by 111 runs.
Kember's contribution to Pocklington's 207-8 was 52 but he was eclipsed by Ben Reece with 57.
Geoff Woodward iced the cake with 27no. Earswick's best bowler was veteran John Routledge who took 3-36 after stepping up from the second team.
When Earswick replied Chris Smith made 98 but Kember produced a devastating seven overs in which he claimed five wickets for a mere nine runs as Earswick succumbed to 98 all out.
DIVISION THREE
Hull & YPI kept up the pressure on the divisional leaders when they gained an eight wicket win at Welton & Brough.
For the hosts, Greg Fewster made 49 and Mark Allbones 37 but the honours were taken by Dan Wilkinson whose 5-34, aided by Dan Morgan's 3-34 had Welton all out for 134.
YPI's successful reply saw Stuart Robinson hit an unbeaten 52 and Dave Wilson make 44.
Bubwith's Richard Readman produced a fine solo performance when he batted throughout his side's innings against TABS to make an unbeaten 84 out of a total of 133-8.
Steve Raine took 3-40 for the Bostonians who then went to a convincing eight- wicket win as Andy Griffiths 58no and Jim Turner 42no stole the show.
DIVISION FOUR A
Castleford were another side to make a short-handed journey when they took only ten men to Goole and lost by six wickets.
Simon Tucker made 34 and Glen Shally 37no but Will O'Donell's 3-19 had Cas all out for 128.
Opener Neil Webster then hit 68no as he and Byron Parker 35 eased Goole to a comfortable triumph.
Hull Zingari II were taken all the way before emerging as one wicket winners at Driffield despite having dismissed their hosts for just 99.
Tim Garland 3-28 and Martin Russell 3-23 were the scourges of the home team but Rob Woodcock 4-31 and George Drury 3 for 8 came within a whisker of pulling off a victory. Zingari were again indebted to Russell whose 26no saw them pouch the points at 101-9.
Drax logged up their 12th win of the season in ruthless manner at Osbaldwick when they sailed past the home total of 157-8 for the loss of just one wicket.
Matt Hattee 43 and Martin Baguley 53 made runs for Osso as Steven Smith took 3-39.
Keith Powell then hit 80 and Luke Edwards was not out with 44 when Drax replied with 159-1.
Fenner II hit the day's highest winning score when they chased down Selby's 221-5 to win by 5 wickets.
Dan Murphy's 78 was top score for Selby who had input from Joe Nurden 25 and Jamie Wheeler 38.
Steve Clark hit back with 4-48 but Fenner prospered through Andy Hancocks 79, Paul Scrowston 54 and Dan Parker 32no.
Bob Hewitt with 33no and Andy Winfield 26 made runs as Stamford Bridge reached 140-7 against Hornsea whose Joe Singleton took 3-30.
Hornsea then had to thank Ian Bottom 51 and Matt Knapton 30 for earning them a two-wicket win and staving off the threat from Jim Burley 3-15 and Ian Henderson 3-16.
Batting first at home to Woodhouse Grange, Yapham were only able to make 118-9 as Harry Collins grabbed three wickets for a mere two runs.
Martin Pearson made 33 but saw his efforts erased as Stuart Craven hit 54no and Rich Winterburn 33 to gain Grange a nine wicket win.
DIVISION FIVE A
Huntington skipper Tom Shaw produced a one man show when his side gained a seven-wicket victory at Drax.
Firstly he recorded the remarkable figures of six wickets for just eight runs in a 12-over spell as Drax were rolled over for 73 then he made 42no to ensure his side maintained their leadership of Division 5A,
Selby MP, Nigel Adams, took advantage of the parliamentary recess to turn out for Hovingham at Carlton Towers where he shared in a profitable stand of 109 for the fourth wicket with Geoff Pears.
The new man at Westminster made 64 in support of Pears' 92 as Hovingham posted a score of 232.
For the homesters, Josh Thornton took 3-37 and Adam Mooring 3-34. Carlton were then never threatened with defeat as captain Martin Denby with 67 and Steve Carr 41 ensured a draw at 149-5.
Under-16 player Tom Noble had a fine game for Londesbrough Park who beat Pocklington by seven wickets.
As the elder partner in a youthful attack, Noble claimed 5 for 18 whilst his under-13 age group partner Steve Croft took 3-22 as Pocklington were bowled out for 78.
Noble then followed with 34no as he and Liam Barlow 25 steered Londesbrough to a 7 wicket victory in 18.1 overs.
DIVISION FIVE B
Cawood kept their flickering promotion hopes alive with a six wicket win at Stillington who were all out for 167.
There were runs from Denis North 27 and Chris Brown 70 as James Pullein took 4-19 and Dave Topping 3-47.
Topping then added 30 and Stuart Baxter made 48 to blunt Kevin Borwell's 3-43.
