Ferriby boss eyes end to conceding silly goals
NORTH Ferriby will travel to Ossett Town tomorrow aiming to find their second win of the season.
Picking up four points from their opening four games in the Evostik Premier Division, the Villagers have made a steady start to the new campaign.
But unbeaten Ossett will not be an easy side to face as they are currently defying last season's relegation finish in a campaign they received a reprieve.
Ferriby's start to the campaign mirrors last season, picking up a win, a draw and two defeats.
But manager Neil Allison and assistant boss John Anderson expect their players to start showing their best form soon.
Allison told the Mail: "Playing Ossett is a massive game for us and we need to get back to our best form because we have not had the best of starts.
"But if we work harder and stop conceding silly goals, we will do that.
"We had a large number of clean sheets last season and we need to start grinding out 1-0 wins in the close games.
"But we are always going to create chances and score goals with the quality of players we have."
Early results in the division only serve to reinforce Allison's view there will be no easy games this year, with only Ashton United unbeaten after four games.
Mark Whitehouse has left the club to join Frickley Athletic.
However, with Sam Denton now back from suspension Ferriby have a full squad to choose from.
