Environmental health officers went to the firm after spotting smoke rising from a fire at the back of the premises. As the air filled with thick black smoke, staff admitted burning waste rather than paying for it to be disposed of legally.
At Hull Magistrates Court, Caspian Access and Plant Hire Ltd were fined £500 and ordered to pay £250 prosecution costs and a £15 victim surcharge.

“£765 fine in total. as usual punishment does not fit the crime. make it 7650 to act as a deterrent.”
