Flood warning issued for Bridlington

A flood warning is in place for the North East Coast at Bridlington.

Properties on Harbour Road and the Floral Pavilion are at risk.

The Environment Agency has issued the warning due to a high tide expected this evening (Friday, January 18).

Wave overtopping and windblown spray is predicted along the Harbour North area between 9:15pm and midnight due to strong easterly winds.

A flood alert has also been issued for the North Sea coast from Bridlington to Barmston.

The flood alert will be in place between 8.15pm and midnight today, and between 10.45am and midday tomorrow (Saturday).

Bridlington North Pier is the main area at risk.
