Footballer Craig Bellamy given extended driving ban at Beverley court
Cardiff City footballer Craig Bellamy has been handed an extended driving ban at Beverley Magistrates’ Court.
The former Wales international was charged with failing to give a driver’s identity as required under section 172 of the Road Traffic Act.
A BMW was caught speeding near Bishop Burton in April last year.
The court heard Bellamy failed to respond to several police notices.

Bellamy, 33, was disqualified from driving for a further 28 days yesterday after initially being given a six-month ban for speeding at Liverpool Magistrates’ Court earlier this week.
The forward, who was not present at Beverley Magistrates’ Court, was also fined £900 and ordered to pay £150 in costs.
He initially pleaded not guilty but changed his plea on the day of his trial, something that was taken into consideration by the court.
