WITH Division Three champions Bransholme & Kingswood losing their game against Hull & Y. P. I. to the weather the spotlight fell on the race for the runners-up spot.

Humberside Police are second after Brigg Town conceded their game.

Patrington III are just 14 points behind in third after beating Roos to record their 10th victory in a row.

Batting first, Patrington scored 177 for 9 and then bowled out Roos for 123 to win by a comfortable 54-run margin.

In the remaining game in Division Three, Sutton-on-Hull III beat bottom club Hull Ionians Coal Exporters.

Hull Ionians Coal Exporters batted first at home and scored 84 for 7 in a game reduced to 32 overs per side.

John Littlefair (20) and Andy Halsall (20 not out) were the main contributors with the bat, while Des Fox took 2 for 6 for the visitors.

Fox then completed a good game by scoring 20 not out as Sutton eased to a four wicket victory.

Tom Dearing was the pick of the Ionians bowling, taking 2 for 12.

Cottingham Academy, meanwhile, beat Humbleton II after their opponents conceded the game, a result which puts Cott up to fifth spot 53 points off the second position having played a game fewer.

In Division Two, just one game was played. Hessle were shot out for just 42 when they entertained Skirlaugh with Sam Blank (5 for 14) doing the damage. Skirlaugh lost three wickets in reaching their target.
