Free event at Alzheimer's Society

A FREE event aimed at giving East Riding retailers an insight into dementia is being held later this month.

The idea is to give shop managers and staff advice and tips on understanding and responding to some of the behaviours and emotions of a customer with the condition.

Margaret McHugh, support services manager at the Hull and East Riding Alzheimer's Society, said: "There are 7,827 people in Hull and East Riding living with dementia, so this free event is a fantastic opportunity to support people with dementia in our communities."

Jointly organised by the society, East Riding Council and NHS East Riding, the event takes place on Tuesday, February 28, at Cottingham Parks and Leisure Club, Woodhall Way, Cottingham, from 6pm to 8.45pm.
