Gareth Gates performs free gig in Hull's Princes Quay shopping centre
Gareth Gates popped up at Princes Quay this lunchtime to perform a free gig for shoppers.
Bradford's finest, who made his name on Pop Idol, took to the stage at noon as part of the shopping centre's Mother's Day celebrations.

“Gareth has done a hell of a lot more than a lot of people think,just because he wasn't in the charts for a long time,it doesn't mean he has done nothing, a chart topping pop career isn't everything, he's done quite a lot of theatre as Joseph and Marius on the 25 Les Mis anniversary tour and in the West end, loads of one off shows, quite a lot of gigs, not just in places like this one, he's going back to Pizza Express Maidstone this year as it was a success last year, he's been in lead roles in 3 panto's now,Cinderella, Snow White and Aladdin which before anyone critisises that, lots of tv stars do panto, he's also now an intructor on the Mc guire programme helping others with their stammers which he has to work hard every day to get his own speech as good at it is these days and even now he has bad days if he don't put the work in,there was recently a programme on BBC3 called Stop My Stutter whih was Gareth filmed teaching 5 students which is in 4 parts on youtube, http://tinyurl.com/6wfl5x3
