SIR Bob Geldof has called on voters in Haltemprice and

Howden not to let apathy win the day.

The former Boomtown Rat singer provided the latest twist to

an already extraordinary campaign yesterday by offering his

support to David Davis during an event in Hull.

With Mr Davis sharing a stage at the Guildhall, Sir Bob

urged people to vote in what he described as a “unique

election”.

He said: “You are being asked to decide what kind of people

you are and what kind of country you want.

“You are being asked to vote about us and you will probably

never be asked to vote on something so profound again.”

The poverty campaigner said he decided to support Mr Davis's

stance on freedom and civil liberties after watching his

resignation speech on TV.

He said: “I was told David Davis was out on a limb on this

one but it is the right limb to be on.

“It is a limb I am proud to join him on and it's the same

limb William Wilberforce clambered out and perched himself on

in this very town.

“This is not about the grotesqueness of slavery, but it is

about justice, liberty and your rights.”

Sir Bob said he was not bothered about being linked to Mr

Davis's Tory party.

“I am not a party guy. If it was Labour or a Liberal

Democrat doing this I would be here,” he said.

After being barred from the event, Independent candidate

David Icke described it as “a sham”.

“Congratulations to David Davis on winning his pointless and irrelevant By- election.

I hope the £80,000 tax payer money was well spent on the Conservative's publicity stunt

Also, equally, Congratulations to David Icke, because without costing the tax payer a single penny David Icke's election message is the most viewed world wide on Google video.

For all those who want to know what is really going on and not just the narrow information David Davis and Bob Geldof are flogging, then go to google video and type in "David Icke" and see the election special "Big Brother Big Picture"”

“There isn't a chance in hell of this bill being passed in the House of Lords anyway! So why waste everybody's time, energy & *money* on a non-starter?”

“Michael Merlin . David Ickes site must must have held some credibility for you as you sent 2845 posts to his site's forum . Now you have been banned from the forum by a moderator you say David Icke represents anything but free speech . Get a grip man and give your ego a rest .”

“Welcome to the David Icke forums.

You are free to discuss anything of interest ...

    best wishes,

    David

Discussing moderation and moderation decisions on the threads.

While we appreciate that everyone has an opinion, moderation issues may NOT be the topic of thread discussions, no matter how strongly you feel about what may or may not have happened to yourself or another poster ... The Moderation team is NOT at liberty to discuss such matters on the forum threads, and any such attempts to debate a moderator in this way will be swiftly dealt with and may result in infraction points if a poster continues to seek attention in this manner ...

Obviously a controlled discussion is not something that represents free speech.

David Icke represents anything but free speech, as his forum shows the perfect example of this.

I posted 2,845 posts on the DI forum before I was banned for exposing multiple ID's that moderators use.”

“What absolute and utter hypocricy it is to ban David Icke from attending an event which is supposed to be discussing "Big Brother" issues!

A news story as huge as this, should be front page headlines throughout the mainstream media. Particularly as this is supposed to be a democratic by-election.

Icke's right, this election would appear to be a complete and utter sham”

    “What hypocrisy!
Question: How can Davis resign on the freedom/rights/big brother issue and then ban another candidate from a public meeting on this very issue?!?!?!?
Answer: Because he's part of the most exclusive club of puppets in the world, Westminster..

As for Geldorf - well what happened to you mate? I guess they've Stepford Wived you too?

    Shame...

Let Icke speak! The same people who ban him from this meeting moan about Mugabee (another puppet). Classic double think if ever you needed an example
