Girls glam up for Beverley RUFC's first Ladies' Day
NORMALLY, Beverley RUFC is the scene of men in shorts, covered in mud.
But a little bit of glamour was brought to the club with the first Ladies' Day.

"It gives them a chance to dress up, which they don't normally do.
"It is the first time we have held an event like this and we advertised it all around town.
"The idea is to open up the club to more people and have a good time.
"It is loosely based on the races and women like to dress up.
"Hopefully, events like this will increase interest in the club and raise vital funds.
"The club is run entirely by volunteers but it still costs money."
Mrs Innes hopes Ladies' Day at Beverley RUFC, off Norwood, will become a regular event.
She said: "This is the first time we have done this and hopefully next year will be even more successful.
"We want it to become an annual event.
"This is something that is just a little bit different."
Kate Dalton, of Beverley, enjoyed the day.
She said: "I came to the event to support my local rugby club.
"I work at the Royal Standard pub in Beverley and quite a few people from the club come in.
"I also used to work behind the bar at the club about 20 years ago.
"It was a nice day out with all my friends.
"We all love getting glammed up.
"The club used to be busier and hopefully events like this will spark more interest."
Ladies' Day coincided with the last day of the season where Beverley RUFC was battling relegation.
Despite beating Burnage 19–0, Beverley was relegated from National League Division Three North after results failed to go their way elsewhere.
There was also a magnum of champagne awarded to the best- dressed lady.
The prize went to Pauline Dumble, who was also given the honour of awarding the man of the match, which went to Beverley captain Junior Tupai.
