EVENTS: More than 125 people headed to the Green Bricks pub this month for the inaugural Business Springboard quiz.

The event attracted 127 participants in total, and its popularity saw all tickets sold out in advance.

Esther Damary-Thompson, compere for the evening and one of the group's founding members, said: "Business Springboard aims to offer networking opportunities and events that are a little bit quirky."

Business Springboard's next social event is a Curry Night, which takes place at Raj Pavilion in Beverley Road on Thursday, April 18.

EMPLOYMENT: Businesses and charities in Hull have been praised by the Minister for employment as new figures reveal 1,280 people in the city have benefited from the Government's work experience scheme.

Offering his thanks to the participating firms, Mark Hoban said: "I would also like to appeal to other local businesses who aren't yet involved in the scheme to get in touch with their local Jobcentre."
