EAST YORKS: East Riding College has earned a green award from a new Investors of the Environment scheme.

The college has been awarded the highest level of accreditation just six months after joining the scheme.

College principal Derek Branton said the award showed a high level of commitment among students and staff to reducing their carbon footprint and having a positive impact on the environment.

Mr Branton said: "Our accreditation is proof that by taking a good look at the way an organisation works and committing to change, you can reduce your costs and boost your green credentials at the same time."
