HULL: More than 400 workers at catering company Greencore Cakes and Desserts have won a further claim for their legal costs.

The workers originally brought a multi-applicant claim for outstanding wages because the company refused to restore their terms and conditions after what should have been a temporary reduction in pay and holiday rates.

After negotiations with the company and the Unite union, the workforce agreed to the temporary suspension of premium pay rates and enhanced holiday pay from June 1, 2010, to October 1, 2011. But the company failed to reinstate the original rates.

Malcolm Hancock of Unite said: "This has been a long fight but our members stood strong together and they have now won what was always rightfully theirs.
