It is open to anybody caring for a family member, friend or neighbour and aims to form a community facility for people to get advice and support, socialise and enjoy refreshments.

CISS community outreach worker Beverley Shore said: "Carers can feel isolated and the overall aim of this group is to provide a point of contact, advice and, at times, respite, within the local community.

"The first sessions are very much about the carers and the people they care for, working together to understand and identify what it is the area needs."
