HULL CITY: Geovanni heads off to Portugal (video)
GEOVANNI is heading off to Portugal to try to resolve his ongoing medial knee ligament injury.
The Hull City play-maker is unable to train at present and has decided to seek advice from a doctor he has worked with in the past.

The Brazilian will play no part in tomorrow's clash at Blackburn Rovers.
Jimmy Bullard took part in the warm-up with his team-mates at training today as he continues his recovery from a similar injury.
But whilst he continues to target a comeback date against West Ham at Upton Park on February 20, his return will not be rushed.
Tigers boss Phil Brown is hopeful Andy Dawson and George Boateng will be fit for the Barclays Premier League clash at Ewood Park tomorrow.
Both players picked up niggles in the impressive 2-1 victory over Manchester City on Saturday but Brown is hoping to name the same side.

“Cynical Merlin strikes again. Even for a so-called semi-pro even you must understand that injuries happen. Jimmy has been the catalyst since November. 40k a week is peanuts for class like him. Even injured he can have a great affect on the whole squad
JB will be back. More awards to collect.”

“Jimbo has collected a lorryload of Awards since moving to Hull. Player of the Month, Licenced Victuallers Association Boozer of the Year, Racing Post's Punter of the Century and Horseowner's Weekly Certificate for being Phil Brown's big mate. But what takes the biscuit is the recently announced Fulham 'Ex Players Biggest Contract Since Leaving Injured' Trophy. Apparently his nomination was unapposed - for obvious reasons.”

“Geo looks to have cold in his knees. Does not like winter conditions. He will be back when it gets warmer. March and April it will be better for him.
Portugal is so nice at this time of year. Even if fit Blackburn away in january is Not a Geo game.”

“Excellent set of results in the matches tonight and Sunderland had two sent off! Win at Blackburn and we leap frog them into 13th.”

“Does anyone else think there is something strange about this, or maybe a bit more to it? like a summer move being teed up? Or is it just me making 2 plus 2 equal 5?”

“That desperate desire for 4 4 2. It's only a standard formation though. An attacking one would be 4 3 3. But Phil Brown's over-defensiveness, in playing no strikers at all for most of the season, has left fans excited by simple "normality". Which is reaping dividends, since Hull City's forwards are rather talented - as many have realised for some time. Hull City should win tonight, and not with a rearguard effort. Not against Blackburn.”
